About Top Crypto YTD

Top Crypto YTD ranks cryptocurrencies by their year-to-date (YTD) return in 2026: one leaderboard, best to worst, measured from each coin’s January 1, 2026 price. Alongside the leaderboard you will find a page for every ranked coin, CoinGecko category rankings, head-to-head comparisons, a YTD calculator, a personal watchlist, and monthly archives of the top performers.

Data and updates

Price and market data come from CoinGecko, with OKX as a supplementary source. The leaderboard is rebuilt every morning, so the rankings always reflect the latest prices. The ranking is drawn from the top 500 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization; a coin also needs a January 1, 2026 baseline price and at least $10,000 in 24-hour trading volume to be ranked, so the leaderboard usually lists fewer than 500 coins. How returns are calculated is documented on the methodology page.
